
In the wilds of Linhares one must be careful to avoid
stepping on dead stick on the path. Occasionally one of them turns
out to be a Bothrops (jararacussu?). We found two 30" such
poisonous snakes here walking with Dilton of COA. These snakes can
get to be 9 feet long. Look for the shiny eye in center right of this
picture, if you don't see the snake at first. Photo taken 7 April
1996. In Brazil all snakes are called cobra.
